Week 10 EOC: What Are The Benefits vs. The Feature

To Be Continued...

Implementation Evaluation Control

The plan is for us to consistently check on the progress or how we are doing as a company. We will be checking on all of the competitors sales and ours and see what the numbers are. To see if they are doing better than us or not. What we can do to improve the sales and what are the customers really asking for. We would leave a number right onto the box where consumers can call and leave a comment, concerns, or compliments about the product. Like a how are we doing toll free number where they get to voice their opinion! "Through implementation, the company turns the plans into actions. Control consists of measuring and evaluating the results of marketing activities and taking corrective action where needed. Finally, marketing analysis provides information and evaluations needed for all of the other marketing activities." We would have to do a monthly report where we can figure out where we should be heading. If our competitors are doing better than we have to create a new idea to beat them in sales and popularity. If we are on top and we are doing fine, we are not going to stop there and improve. We cannot just sit back and relax now because we are on top of the sales or whatnot. There is always room to improve. Of course we can't forget that 5% of the total sales for the month goes to help people in Philippines! "Outlines the control that will be used to monitor progress and allow higher management to review implementation results and spot products that are not meeting their goals. It includes measures of return on marketing investment."

Price

The price will significantly lower than our competitors! We have to start somewhere and that is where we will be starting. Why start off at a low price? We need to build a customer base and that's how we are going to do it. Everyone is struggling with money and people look for the cheapest things to buy now. They are going to love it when it is cheap and made with the best that we can offer! We will also match and 5% more if any other competitors tries to lower their price. We know our product and we stand by that! “The company can offer greater costumer value either by charging lower prices than competitors, or by offering more benefits to justify higher prices." We will be selling at a price of $9.99 and 5% going to help the victims in Philippines. The box will include 30 packets.  "Customers are interested in more than just the price; they are interested in the total costs of obtaining, using, and disposing of a product. Customers want the product and service to be as conveniently available as possible."

Promotion

We do many promotions to get the word out of our amazing product. Through such outlet as advertisement on televisions and radio to start things off. Commercials that would run on probably kids oriented channels. The reason why I say that is because we want to target the children, they love hot chocolate! I know I did when I was a child but I'm sure things haven't changed much. "the company designs promotion programs that communicate the value proposition to target consumers and persuade them to act on the market offering." Of course we are also going to announce that 5% will go to help the tragedy that happened in Philippines recently. We will create a logo that will be tagged on to the box so when people see it anywhere they would know what that logo relates to. The radio commercial will be another great idea to get the world out there. I am sure people would love to help others that are in need so saying that we are helping Philippines is going to be great. "Promotion means activities that communicate the merits of the product and persuade target customers to buy it"

Distribution

Our goal is to one day have it all grocery stores world wide but since we are just starting we are trying to get a customer base and have them spread the word around how great this product is. Probably will be starting in Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, places like that is indeed a bit pricey but they have the highest standards when it comes to products they offer on the counters. "The idea that consumers will favor products that are available and highly affordable and that the organization should therefore focus on improving production and distribution efficiency." My target locations to start off is probably somewhere cold, that has snow every winter time. The idea behind this is that we are selling hot chocolate, meaning it is meant to be cold when it is drunk. Who wouldn't want a warm or hot beverage on a cold day? We all know that people tend to drink hot drinks when it's cold and cold drinks when it is hot. "Companies adopting this orientation run a major risk of focusing too narrowly on their own operations and losing sight of the real objective—satisfying customer needs and building customer relationships."

Product

Like we mentioned earlier, we get our cocoa that is in our product straight from Africa. The dark chocolate is known for healthy benefits that is always a plus. The finest cocoa in the world! "Smart marketers look beyond the attributes of the products and services they sell. By orchestrating several services and products, they create brand experiences for consumers." Once we get the cocoa, we grind it up and package it all up in each packets. Our hot chocolate has the chocolate powder, brown sugar and powdered milk which is very easy to make up with just adding hot water. "Customers form expectations about the value and satisfaction that various market offerings will deliver and buy accordingly. Satisfied customers buy again and tell others about their good experiences. Dissatisfied customers often switch to competitors and disparage the product to others."

Target Market Strategy

"The art and science of choosing target markets and building profitable relationships with them." First out company would like to say that we stress honesty, integrity and putting people first. We want to do what is right and not just make profit. We want what our customers want and we will do just that. We want what benefits both consumers and the company at the same time. We want to build a relationship with our target customers. "What customers will we serve (what’s our target market)? and How can we serve these customers best (what’s our value proposition)?"

SWOT Analysis

"The marketer should conduct a SWOT analysis, by which it evaluates the company’s overall strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and threats (T)". With that being said we decided to go through and thought about the SWOT. For strength, we have the best of the best when it comes to dark chocolate that is imported here to the US from Africa. We pick the finest cocoa to put into out product and nothing less. We have someone there to pick out the batch and it is a professional that is well educated with picking up the best cocoas. Weaknesses would be the supply and demand. Since we are getting all of our shipments from across the world it does take a while for it get here to the factory to be processed into hot chocolate packets. So you can say that it might double the time when it comes to other competitions. The travel time of the chocolate will definitely be the thing that we do have to work on and think of something better in that matter. Opportunities would be to send these products off sea. Meaning hitting all of the world with our products from the US. Something that started off as just a hot chocolate can be more than that. To name a few, chocolate bars, ice cream bars, and such. Anything chocolate that can be created with chocolate. Threats would always be the competitions. All of the other companies that sell chocolate and other chocolate products. What makes us different is the ingredients that we provide to our guest which is the premium gourmet chocolate straight from Africa. "Strengths include internal capabilities, resources, positive situational factors that may help the company to serve its customers and achieve its objectives. Weaknesses include internal limitations and negative situational factors that may interfere with the company’s performance. Opportunities are favorable factors or trends in the external environment that the company may be able to exploit to its advantage. And threats are unfavorable external factors or trends that may present challenges to performance."

Objective

"This broad mission leads to a hierarchy of objectives, including business objectives and marketing objective's." Our goal or objective is to be a profitable company that helps the people in need. We want to help the world and the communities as much as possible. We want to see the smiles and warm peoples hearts. Because everyone deserves to be happy. "The company’sobjective must be to manage “profitable growth.”

Week 9 EOC: The Mission Statement

"A mission statement is a statement of the organization’s purpose—what it wants to accomplish in the larger environment." To bring you the best possible product, that is our mission. Like with every single packet with make, we make with love. We get the best from the best and nothing less is going to be even thought of. With fresh ingredients and amazing flavor it will sure leave you wanting more and more. We followed our instincts to give you the taste of greatness. We incorporated dark chocolate, where ordinary hot chocolate would something more sweet and light. We decided to be different, we decided to take the leap and reach for what we believed in. Our hot chocolate is straight from Africa where 70% of the chocolates are made from and we get the freshest batch of them every shipment we can get. We stay the same with our goal, to make something special. To warm hearts of everyone around. Something memorable and sweet. Our purpose for this company is for you all to be smiling with happiness. We want everyone to have the best experience when it comes to our hot chocolates. Once a dream becoming a reality. “Mission statements should be meaningful and specific yet motivating. They should emphasize the company’s strengths in the marketplace.”

Week 8 EOC: Creative Content

First of all I would like to say that I am in audio program at this school so of course I would record a few radio spots for my product. Probably about 2-3 radio spots that would range about 30 seconds to 1 minute each. I would probably make it funny and some serious but I do have some idea running through my head for these ones. I want to have fun doing this project and I want my classmates to enjoy it as well. I also would like to take a picture of a billboard and probably Photoshop my product label right on it so it would look like the real thing and have fun with that. Maybe create a few of those as well. After that is done, I want to make a one minute video segment about my product. I am not too familiar with the video cameras but I do have some great ideas for this too! Just like the Apple advertisement videos how they sit in front of a white back drop and speak about it and stuff like that. I would probably make this one silly too. I probably will be working on the radio spots over the weekend when I have free time to knock a few out. I would like to try to make a jingle and play in the background of the radio spot and make some legit. It will blow you away! I can't wait to show everyone what I have in stored for the class! Now I am off to work on this project. See everyone after the holidays!

Week 6 EOC: Me x 3

Alright the first thing I would like to share with all of you is my customized gaming computer and I also use it for school. I am in audio production program and of course I thought about Apple computers. They are the industry standard for media and such but I love PC games too much to switch to Apple computers which are not compatible in most cases with game. With windows I can do my school work and also have fun with my free time and this machine of mine that I built a few months back is doing pretty well. Last time I built a computer which was about 7 years ago, I had a friend build it for me when I had no clue of what I was doing. Now I learned up on all of it and built my own and I am very proud of how it turned out!

Number 2 on the list is my phone. In this case Iphone 5! That is what I own at the moment. I almost switched over to Samsung Galaxy but when the new batches of the Iphones came out I could not leave it behind. I am so used to this phone that I wouldn't want to switch to another operating system to mess with my head. I have an crack in it so I do need to purchase a newer version, probably the 5C because of the price. I am being cheap at the moment. Well I use my phone all the time, usually to kill time and text friends and check all my social medias and such. I always have to have this on me or I will go nuts looking for it left and right. It is my right hand man!

Last thing is my car. I bought it when I was only 18 years old and I still have it till this day. It took me many places and I have so much memories with this car. Road trips, stupid stunts and such. I have slept in it, almost vomited inside of it and so many thing I can name that I have done in there. Yes of course it gave me some troubles when it came to maintenance but nothing major and it is still holding up amazingly after almost 6 years. If it did have something major it was covered by warranty and it was fixed right away. This car will always be my baby until it craps out on me and I have to buy a new one!

Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

Reading through both of those articles was pretty intriguing. Everything has grown into something different when it comes to applying for jobs or people looking for someone to hire it seems. "Candidates have been 50% more likely to apply to positions they found through Facebook than through other means, said Mr. Staney." That's exactly half. That is plenty if you ask me, I mean everyone gets on Facebook at least once a day. That is the most used social media site I believe. People all use it for different purposes and when I do, I see things I want to look into all the time. There is now advertisements and such that you might want to look at and that can cause you to dig deeper. So with that being said if there was an job posting on Facebook then I would probably jump right on it if it matched what I like to be doing. "More companies are trying to tap Facebook Inc.'s 750-million-plus user base to find new employees, threatening traditional job boards and competing with LinkedIn Corp., which has dominated the online professional networking arena." Facebook is taking over many things. I'm sure Facebook is where most people is at and who doesn't have an account with them? Maybe 5% of the population probably don't have an account but as you know grandmas, grandpas, and your mom and dads have them. It is no surprise that if they do advertise something on there someone will see and it will spread like wild fire. It will travel through your friends and family and on and on. "People love talking about things that make them happy—including their favorite products and brands." Nowadays it is not hard to get the word out there. The best advertisement is word of mouth. It is free and people that love the brand of the product will do all the work for you. They will tell literally everyone on earth through texts, phone calls and social medias. We all know that happens daily. We do it without knowing it and we are helping the companies tremendously. Social media is definitely the best way to get the word out to the world and for everything we need.

Week 4 EOC: There Is An App For That

An app that I would think would help the world is to something that keeps a track of all the debt that people might have. People nowadays are broke and have many things to pay for such as bills and debts. If there was an app that kept a record of all the things that you would have to pay for and when and how much you might owe. Keeping track of all that should help the world pay down their debts or at the least make their payment date. Of course you can also put that into your calendar on your phone and it would remind you to do so, but I’m thinking more like it would bother you until it has been taking care of. Like a constant reminder of what is due at what time and date. It should get annoying to the point where they would have to take care of it or your phone is going to keep bothering you until you do so. This might be so annoying that people would just delete the app itself but sometimes all these people need a constant reminder that things are due and we owe things to our credit cards that we need to pay for monthly. I know personally I have many things to pay for and sometimes I do forget to pay on time and that probably dinged my credit score and such. It is a bad habit for many people in society. I know friends that are always avoiding the phone calls from the collectors because they do not want to pay the amount and such. We need to face the music and do what we have to do be an adult and pay for things. It is not like when we were young when we didn’t have any kind of responsibility to anything in the world. As we grow older we need to be more responsible and we are always going to be fighting the uphill battle. But like I said earlier, debt is what I am concerned about nowadays and I wish I could control it better. This is definitely what’s weighing me down at the moment.

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

I was born in 1988. That makes me part of the generation y. From what I found online, workers of generation y have high expectations of self. I think that I do have high expectation for myself in the future but I don't think to the extreme. Of course we all want to succeed in life and do well for ourselves. I do work hard and better than most people though. It also said that we are seeking ongoing leaning, I would have to agree with that. Nowadays I like to learn new things because many things are getting boring and I need something new to keep me busy and entertained. Goal oriented is another thing on the list. Yes I have goals and I will achieve them. It says that we don't stay at a job for too long. I been at my job for 7 years now. I am tired of it but it gets me through my day and pays the bills. Last thing I found interesting is that they say we are attention craver. I strongly agree with that, I do crave lots of attention and need praise and reassurance. So I believe that it is pretty much true of what they think we are.

Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

The company that I looked up was Kroger. Honestly from the looks of it, they sell pretty much everything. Just to name a few, foods, baby foods, pet needs, alcohol beverage, produce, and pharmacy. They pretty much own many things around the world and we see them almost anywhere at the stores. They have over 40 manufacturing facilities here in US. Their motto for giving back is "Bringing Help and Hope to our Neighbors and Communities". Since their early days, they have been giving back to the neighbors and communities. Annually they contribute over $220 million dollars in funds, food and products to support local communities. Though they do not help internationally they concentrate on feeding the hungry in locally in US. They are also strong supporters of Salvation Army, American Red Cross and organization that promote the advancement of women and minorities.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

What I believe is that when it comes to video games and consoles, I feel that it is heading down hill. According to the Wall Street Journal in 2009, "videogame sales plunged by a record 29% year over year, according to market-research firm NPD Group. Meanwhile, sales of consoles such as Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 and Nintendo Co.'s Wii plummeted 38%". (WSJ.com). With that being said, it is now 2013. I am sure it tanked a little more than what it was in 2009. Though a new game that came out Grand Theft Auto 5 has broke many Guinness world records. Such as, "best-selling video game in 24 hours" and "most viewed trailer for an action-adventure video game, confirm the phenomenal success of Rockstar Games’ premier title". (http://www.independent.co.uk) This game has broken many barriers and it gave the other gaming companies to step up their game. Now going into the holidays, they now have the XBOX ONE and the Playstation 4. They both are coming out sometime in November and competing with each other. I am certain that those two consoles will the most things bought during this holiday. Everyone on the planet will want to have some of that, not to mention those needy kids that want all the latest and the greatest. If you take a look at the chart here (http://www.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_vs._Wii_U_Comparison_Chart)

Week 1 EOC My Voice

I want someone to be influenced by the things I create. I want people to be wowed and be amazed. I want it to be a memorable experience to all. I have always liked sounds, such as nature, music, and ambience of things, just for an example. Literally anything that makes a sound I am attracted to. Just think, without the sound in movies, shows, and live entertainment, I don’t think people would feel the same. The picture does one thing but I feel that the sound gets the emotions into people. Music and sound in general get people going and the world spinning. I want to be great at what I do when it comes to audio. It has been everything I have dreamt of and something that I want and I won’t stop until I am at my best. I am looking forward to the future and I feel like nothing is going to stop me or be in my way. I am excited with the road up ahead; though it might be a tough one I am not afraid to tackle it head on. The experience I will be having with the industry will be something that I would not trade for anything in the world. Like I always say to my friends, it will be something to tell my grandchildren later on in life.

Week 1 EOC Great Customer Service

I am the type that loves a person with a sense of humor. I tend to make things something to laugh at. I am an easy going kind of guy that takes things less seriously from most people. With that being said, here is the story that brings me to a great customer service story of mine. It was last year Christmas, when my mother and auntie drove my car from Chicago back to Las Vegas. While driving back they slipped on black ice and caused the car to lose control and hit the wall. The car was banged up but drivable. More importantly my family members were not harmed in process and that is what matters most. Well I called my insurance company and reported everything that had happened to the car. They asked me to drive my car into a body shop they recommended which was part of the insurance company that I had. My great customer service started when I dropped my car off. They approached me as soon as I arrived and they knew me by name already. Obviously it’s on paper and I had made an appointment for it so it was kind of expected. The lady that was taking care of me wasn’t the only one speaking to me. Everyone at the store was the friendly people I have ever met. They were all jolly and looked like they enjoyed every minute of their job. I like to see that in people when I enter a business. All the paperwork was done and all I had to do was hand over the keys and pay the deductible. Then they swiped my credit card and… DECLINED. I was in shock because I came in prepared to pay the amount that it was due and it was not in there. So the jokester that I am, cracked a joke and laughed it up. They went along with it and made jokes themselves and I love that they did that and not made it so negative that it was declined. I am not the type to get offended easily. I was very comfortable like I was just talking to my friends about my problems at hand. They made it an experience and a great one for that matter. I know some people would not be fond of this kind of customer service but everyone is different and I am not a fan of all the formalities and such. I like the friendliness and the comfortableness that it made me feel. I had a great time dropping off my car that day and will always go back to them with repairs.
