Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting
Reading through both of those articles was pretty intriguing. Everything has grown into something different when it comes to applying for jobs or people looking for someone to hire it seems. "Candidates have been 50% more likely to apply to positions they found through Facebook than through other means, said Mr. Staney." That's exactly half. That is plenty if you ask me, I mean everyone gets on Facebook at least once a day. That is the most used social media site I believe. People all use it for different purposes and when I do, I see things I want to look into all the time. There is now advertisements and such that you might want to look at and that can cause you to dig deeper. So with that being said if there was an job posting on Facebook then I would probably jump right on it if it matched what I like to be doing. "More companies are trying to tap Facebook Inc.'s 750-million-plus user base to find new employees, threatening traditional job boards and competing with LinkedIn Corp., which has dominated the online professional networking arena." Facebook is taking over many things. I'm sure Facebook is where most people is at and who doesn't have an account with them? Maybe 5% of the population probably don't have an account but as you know grandmas, grandpas, and your mom and dads have them. It is no surprise that if they do advertise something on there someone will see and it will spread like wild fire. It will travel through your friends and family and on and on. "People love talking about things that make them happy—including their favorite products and brands." Nowadays it is not hard to get the word out there. The best advertisement is word of mouth. It is free and people that love the brand of the product will do all the work for you. They will tell literally everyone on earth through texts, phone calls and social medias. We all know that happens daily. We do it without knowing it and we are helping the companies tremendously. Social media is definitely the best way to get the word out to the world and for everything we need.

Week 4 EOC: There Is An App For That
An app that I would think would help the world is to
something that keeps a track of all the debt that people might have. People
nowadays are broke and have many things to pay for such as bills and debts. If
there was an app that kept a record of all the things that you would have to
pay for and when and how much you might owe. Keeping track of all that should
help the world pay down their debts or at the least make their payment date. Of
course you can also put that into your calendar on your phone and it would
remind you to do so, but I’m thinking more like it would bother you until it
has been taking care of. Like a constant reminder of what is due at what time
and date. It should get annoying to the point where they would have to take
care of it or your phone is going to keep bothering you until you do so. This
might be so annoying that people would just delete the app itself but sometimes
all these people need a constant reminder that things are due and we owe things
to our credit cards that we need to pay for monthly. I know personally I have
many things to pay for and sometimes I do forget to pay on time and that
probably dinged my credit score and such. It is a bad habit for many people in
society. I know friends that are always avoiding the phone calls from the
collectors because they do not want to pay the amount and such. We need to face
the music and do what we have to do be an adult and pay for things. It is not
like when we were young when we didn’t have any kind of responsibility to
anything in the world. As we grow older we need to be more responsible and we
are always going to be fighting the uphill battle. But like I said earlier,
debt is what I am concerned about nowadays and I wish I could control it
better. This is definitely what’s weighing me down at the moment.

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics
I was born in 1988. That makes me part of the generation y. From what I found online, workers of generation y have high expectations of self. I think that I do have high expectation for myself in the future but I don't think to the extreme. Of course we all want to succeed in life and do well for ourselves. I do work hard and better than most people though. It also said that we are seeking ongoing leaning, I would have to agree with that. Nowadays I like to learn new things because many things are getting boring and I need something new to keep me busy and entertained. Goal oriented is another thing on the list. Yes I have goals and I will achieve them. It says that we don't stay at a job for too long. I been at my job for 7 years now. I am tired of it but it gets me through my day and pays the bills. Last thing I found interesting is that they say we are attention craver. I strongly agree with that, I do crave lots of attention and need praise and reassurance. So I believe that it is pretty much true of what they think we are.
Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good
The company that I looked up was Kroger. Honestly from the looks of it, they sell pretty much everything. Just to name a few, foods, baby foods, pet needs, alcohol beverage, produce, and pharmacy. They pretty much own many things around the world and we see them almost anywhere at the stores. They have over 40 manufacturing facilities here in US. Their motto for giving back is "Bringing Help and Hope to our Neighbors and Communities". Since their early days, they have been giving back to the neighbors and communities. Annually they contribute over $220 million dollars in funds, food and products to support local communities. Though they do not help internationally they concentrate on feeding the hungry in locally in US. They are also strong supporters of Salvation Army, American Red Cross and organization that promote the advancement of women and minorities.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games
What
I believe is that when it comes to video games and consoles, I feel that it is
heading down hill. According to the Wall Street Journal in 2009,
"videogame sales plunged by a record 29% year over year, according to
market-research firm NPD Group. Meanwhile, sales of consoles such as Microsoft
Corp.'s Xbox 360 and Nintendo Co.'s Wii plummeted 38%". (WSJ.com). With that being said, it is now 2013. I am
sure it tanked a little more than what it was in 2009. Though a new game that
came out Grand Theft Auto 5 has broke many Guinness world records. Such
as, "best-selling
video game in 24 hours" and "most viewed trailer for an
action-adventure video game, confirm the phenomenal success of Rockstar Games’
premier title". (http://www.independent.co.uk) This game has broken many barriers and it gave the other
gaming companies to step up their game. Now going into the holidays, they now
have the XBOX ONE and the Playstation 4. They both are coming out sometime in November
and competing with each other. I am certain that those two consoles will the
most things bought during this holiday. Everyone on the planet will want to
have some of that, not to mention those needy kids that want all the latest and
the greatest. If you take a look at the chart here (http://www.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_vs._Wii_U_Comparison_Chart)

Week 1 EOC My Voice
I want someone to be influenced by the things I create. I
want people to be wowed and be amazed. I want it to be a memorable experience to
all. I have always liked sounds, such as nature, music, and ambience of things,
just for an example. Literally anything that makes a sound I am attracted to. Just
think, without the sound in movies, shows, and live entertainment, I don’t think
people would feel the same. The picture does one thing but I feel that the sound
gets the emotions into people. Music and sound in general get people going and
the world spinning. I want to be great at what I do when it comes to audio. It
has been everything I have dreamt of and something that I want and I won’t stop
until I am at my best. I am looking forward to the future and I feel like
nothing is going to stop me or be in my way. I am excited with the road up ahead;
though it might be a tough one I am not afraid to tackle it head on. The experience
I will be having with the industry will be something that I would not trade for
anything in the world. Like I always say to my friends, it will be something to
tell my grandchildren later on in life.
Week 1 EOC Great Customer Service
I am the type that loves a person with a sense of humor. I
tend to make things something to laugh at. I am an easy going kind of guy that takes
things less seriously from most people. With that being said, here is the story
that brings me to a great customer service story of mine. It was last year Christmas,
when my mother and auntie drove my car from Chicago back to Las Vegas. While
driving back they slipped on black ice and caused the car to lose control and
hit the wall. The car was banged up but drivable. More importantly my family
members were not harmed in process and that is what matters most. Well I called
my insurance company and reported everything that had happened to the car. They
asked me to drive my car into a body shop they recommended which was part of
the insurance company that I had. My great customer service started when I
dropped my car off. They approached me as soon as I arrived and they knew me by
name already. Obviously it’s on paper and I had made an appointment for it so
it was kind of expected. The lady that was taking care of me wasn’t the only
one speaking to me. Everyone at the store was the friendly people I have ever
met. They were all jolly and looked like they enjoyed every minute of their
job. I like to see that in people when I enter a business. All the paperwork
was done and all I had to do was hand over the keys and pay the deductible.
Then they swiped my credit card and… DECLINED. I was in shock because I came in
prepared to pay the amount that it was due and it was not in there. So the
jokester that I am, cracked a joke and laughed it up. They went along with it
and made jokes themselves and I love that they did that and not made it so
negative that it was declined. I am not the type to get offended easily. I was
very comfortable like I was just talking to my friends about my problems at
hand. They made it an experience and a great one for that matter. I know some
people would not be fond of this kind of customer service but everyone is
different and I am not a fan of all the formalities and such. I like the
friendliness and the comfortableness that it made me feel. I had a great time
dropping off my car that day and will always go back to them with repairs.
